history:
Owned and run by licensees John and Ginny Arundel since 1988, the building has undergone many changes in its history. Licensee John takes up the story. "The building was originally a number of Quarry cottages in the early 18th Century, before being converted into a public house in the 1850's. Before the building of the main A4, the pub stood at the side of the main London to Bristol road, and, as such provided warmth and hospice to many a weary traveller."
directions:
Exit M4 at Junction 18, following the A4 just before the village of Pickwick and Rudloe Hall Hotel take a sharp right down a small road called Beech Road, take the right turning marked Barnetts Hill. Bear right at the top of the hill, and the pub is 100yards on the right.

If you have any problems finding the pub, feel free to call on 01225 743569. The staff have extensive experience of guiding travellers to the pub.
